Hi everyone, I work for large startup (300 employees) and I have been asked to develop a Progressive HR manual template. Some examples include gender neutral restrooms, lactation rooms, signing off emails with pronouns, and etc. Any tips/links for resources to help would be appreciated.

General question: Is there any room in corporate America for real, actionable DE&I discussions and initiatives? I've observed so many corporate versions become an advertising strategy (SM posts, diversity reports) without doing the actual work (increasing representation in senior leadership, salary analyses, having an effective reporting system for bias). Hello! It seems this bowl is not very active but I'd like it to be. So here's my story: Born & raised in PR, moved to CA for undergrad & have been here since then. I graduated from law school in 2019, followed by a 2 yr bk clerkship. I did the evening program. I really enjoyed law school, in spite of the microaggressions, the late nights, & crazy competition. Love all things diversity in the law. Anyway, currently looking for a position in NYC/DC area. 🤗

Recent lateral junior associate in brand new practice where I'm the only associate. I'm probably going to bill 1,500 hours max this year due to being very slow and taking time off for a delayed honeymoon which I disclosed during my interview process. I have been told my work product is good, I don't turn anything down, I participate in non-billable work, I'm responsive and I always let people know I'm available to help.
