Some schools only do reviews once a year and don't communicate in between. Others have a lot more casual communication. What do you think is better for growth? I personally think more casual communication is great for constructive feedback where as yearly reviews are great for praising employees.

I agree with you.

Yeah I have had the opposite at a previous job and it makes a huge difference!

We are observed and offered feedback 3 times a year. Most of our professional discussions are held between colleagues and I am lucky enough to work on a team where we support each other’s professional growth. Ongoing conversations are much more valuable than trimester based evaluations. Our evaluations always have to include constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement. They seem like formalities and are not genuine reflections of our teaching. I personally value the feedback from my colleagues over my administrators’ opinions of infrequent observations. They have no idea what we do everyday and they don’t have time to truly pay attention or care.

I agree. I think manament usually just hears one side of the story.

I think a weekly quick like 5 min or less check in from admin to see how things are among staff and then a more lengthy formal meet in once a month to hash out any issues or building concerns. I feel it’s either a yearly sit down which leaves too much to go over or feeling uneasy when admin needs to talk to you. More frequently would have it feel like a team rather than reliving being at the “principal’s office”

Yes I agree ! It always feels so intimidating at the yearly review.

Hi everyone! In your experience, what is the one tool / must-have / methodology any of your companies use to bring about a cohesive and comprehensive go-to-market strategy in the launch of new products and services? As a company scales, coordinating cross-functionally and across time zones is becoming increasingly challenging so we have identified that we need frameworks or tools to help us go-to-market in a less clumsy, more coordinated fashion. Would love to get your ideas on this.

Sanity check. Going to preface this by saying I'm not in a rush. I wanted to get some good consulting experience so joined EY out of UG. Got early promo, but I've reached the point where I'm no longer growing (learning) much on my current team. I've become very interested in PE and want to give that a shot. I lack the resume experience.

Thinking to move within EY to an M&A focused group SaT or EYP. Do ~2 years and see if I still want that. Will that tick the box for most PE shops?
