What are some of your go to restaurants in LA?
I am Offered 29.5fixed by PwC for SA (L2). Currently on 25fixed. Should I join ? In terms of WLB.! My current employer on fishbowl shows Deloitte but have left Deloitte a year back. Currently in a firm with good WLB but PWFH is a big win for me that PwC is offering.
Any guidance or fist hand experience sharing is highly appreciated.
Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I would say it is probably irrelevant. Technically you really shouldn't knwo what anyone else is making, and they were there a lot longer than it sounds like you have been. I would do research on comp for that role in your area and go based on that.

I was briefly a team lead and saw their salary - that was years ago though. It could’ve changed. And yes they’ve been here longer than I have. You’re right though - I’d have to do market research. It’s hard bc the title is going to be more of an “internal” title. So - more difficult to do a comparison.
A raise is usually between 1-5% but what you're referring to is a promotion. Usually a promotion is between 10-30% over your current salary. Realistically if i average out the low end of 88k and the high end of 104k then 96k is the mid band target.

I would be so happy with $96k. We shall see. I appreciate your input!
How many years have you been at your job? That can determine how much you should negotiate

I have been there since 2009. That makes 16 years.. Started at $40k. Now at $80k. Same boss - different positions lol
The numbers dont mean much in terms of what % raise you should ask for just based on what you earn vs what they earned, and tenure. The key factor is how much more work are you going to be doing. Theres a big difference between "few changes" and "basically what i do plus what they did". Let the accurate reality of your workload change guide the premium you think is fair to apply to your existing salary. They paid 95k for that person's annual output before, and they dont want to pay 95k now (you werent chosen for being good, not that you might not be, but they clearly want to absorb that role internally and prob couldnt fire the guy due to tenure etc). Be pushy with your ask. (Im aware my answer ignores budget constraints, fair benchmarking across team, and possible fixed paygrades per role)

Thanks. And this does make sense to me. I’ll wait for her to post the actual job description to really know and compare how much I’d have to do.
If they were there for 20+ years depending on the role and we’re getting paid 95+ was 95 their base salary plus bonus? Or was that all in?
Remember, you should probably be on a new pay scale because if you’re moving from your job to their job, that’s probably a different pay scale. If they want you to do both - no. They’re setting you up for failure.
Make some discreet inquiries as to what the salary band was for their role. You absolutely need to be given a massive raise. But share with us how many years you’ve been in the role or how long you’ve done the job and where your education and experience are compared to theirs.
Then go look and see what the market is paying.

Also, I’ve been there 16 years. Education-wise, I don’t know how it compares. I just know they’ve been here longer than I have.
Understand you’ve been doing the work or you’ve been there for 16 years I highly doubt that you’ve been doing the same role for 16 years, is that right? You say you would be happy at 96 see what the market is paying first and then see if you would be happy with 96. You’ve been there for 16 years. Where was their salary the last time you looked at it? Were they over 96? If yes then you should be over 96.

Actually I did the same role for about 13 years before a different role that I’m in currently. In between for about 6 months, I was a team lead but reverted back because I moved and worked from home. They didn’t want any remote team leads. I don’t know exactly where their salary was but I’m sure it was over $95k. .
