Someone should consider gifting the Deloitte Tax CEO some public speaking lessons. It’s one thing to lack charisma, but the excessive use of “umms” is both distracting and somewhat embarrassing for someone at that level. I recently joined from another big4 and this is disappointing.

She reads from a prompt. Our previous CEO couldn’t have a single all hands call without mentioning PwC.

So tacky! You'd think that CEOs of companies at this scale would have superior rhetoric to that but then you just realize that these are just pretty average men who somehow landed these insanely powerful positions. Maybe they should hire speech writers lol

funny

Sometimes you want a CEO that knows more than just how to talk.

That should be a minimum requirement though.

if the ceo of america can manage, so can Deloitte!

She is getting more comfortable the more talks she gives. I do like how much she talks about her own family. She has some pretty good LinkedIn post.

What is your favorite library skills lesson or activity to welcome K-2 students back to school?

Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. On the weekends, same responsibilities but 7a-7p. We don't get any additional pay for being in charge and I'm sick of the added responsibility and stress of it.

New job.
Moved from agency after 6yrs, into a startup (€8m Series A, high growth); first marketing hire. My manager is ex VC, seems to like managing by fear, let’s fire X, let’s cut the agency etc. sets tight deadlines & adds urgent items last minute. Others seem to feel I’m doing great but I am butting heads with him constantly about unrealistic workloads etc. Really not enjoying interacting with him, thinking about leaving... should I stick it out? I think to be an authentic leader I need to be radically candid with you and point our your mistakes. So are you willing to work with me on this?
