You're at DB... given recent news, is that really a bridge you want to keep?
Follow someone who will take care of you. Which bridge is more important to you? The one ahead or the one behind?
It's business- it's not burning a bridge to take another opportunity. They will continue on with or without you- take care of yourself and do right by your colleagues. Loyalty is to people- not a company.
DT can build bridges. They will be beautiful. The best bridges. He'll make DB pay for the bridge.
The fact that senior guys are bailing on db would say to me that the firm having some issues isn't fake news. It's news.
You should strongly consider the move if you truly enjoy working for that person and believe that you can learn and grow through the continued experience. While maybe some seniors may feel slighted (egos) your peers will not and won't feel differently about you. Just make sure you don't have any legalese in your current contract that could allow DB to sue you, your old boss, or your new firm for poaching... that's actually a thing.
DB is fine, not worried about fake news. However if upper management feels as you do and bolts [which some are], then I could be left with poor personal relationships across the industry....That makes the issue of 'will this burn a bridge' very important to consider.
You're overthinking it.
