Similar situation at a small consulting firm, my role was supposed to be technical consultant yet I'm always doing sales work. I've found that management expects you to suck it up and "wear many hats" to get the job done, so my solution was to set boundaries and be exempted from all the unnecessary admin meetings.
No way around having to cover multiple responsibilities outside of my job description, but it's much more bearable when I don't have to worry about being bogged down with useless meetings.
