Started my career in NFP then transitioned to professional service marketing. Twenty years later i would like to go back to NFP but my on-paper skills do not give me the opportunity to showcase how my skills in corporate can translate back over. Any thoughts on how one can make the transition back to NFP?

Don't sell yourself short, I would bet you've got highly transferable skills that would be welcomed back in the NFP universe. Highlight how your time in marketing gave you skills and experience in communication, strategy, campaign management, budgets and so on. And you can probably also tout skills such as data analysis or project management. If you can show some numbers and make your skills tangible, that would be helpful. You might also explore certifications for NFP work, qualifying for some of those might give you an edge.

Hello All, I’m a project manager but seeking to pivot into UX Research. I do have some experience but don’t have a portfolio yet. Can anyone advise if I should focus on going through a bootcamp or focus on getting a Masters in HCI? Or just building a portfolio with the experience I do have? There are very few entry-level roles and many places are only hiring “Sr UXR” with 3-5+ years of experience! Any tips on how to break into this field and/or stand out as a junior applicant?? Thanks!

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

Thank you all!

Hey all, having issues with interviewing this year. I’ve been passed over every opportunity I really want and I’m unsure how to regroup and move forward. I’m really trying to break into method development roles and I haven’t had the opportunity to do so with my analytical experience. A lot of my HPLC and LCMS experience is with already established methods. Any tips?

Hey guys! I just received luckily enough two offer from two big companies: one as a Senior UX in SAP Concur and another one at Microsoft as a Designer II in Microsoft Teams. Hi Fishes,

I am a QA engineer in an edutech company. I have an experience of 7.5 years (manual testing- database, front end, mobile and api testing).

I want to move to a BA role. I have good communication skills and an analytical mind. Below are 3 of my biggest questions.

1. Is it too late to switch to a BA role?
2. What are the skills, tools or certifications required?
3. How should I approach a job opening, given that I have no work experience as a BA.

Pls do pitch in your thoughts

I am currently in a coordinating role right now but not really sure how to move into a PM role? What kind of experience is needed? Any advice?

You CAN be that leader that people want to work with. 1st, self assessment is required. Be honest: As a leader, have you engaged in/accepted Attribution Bias with a dash of gender &/or race bias? (See the pic) This is something we all need to be aware of as we lead our teams, provide performance feedback, & model the behaviors we'd like to see more of on our teams. Be on the lookout for Attribution Bias in yourself & on your team. It's a hindrance to creating a high-performing, inclusive culture.
