Hi Sharks, needs some insights. Currently am waiting for an official offer from Deloitte and Fractal as Data Scientist. I have 5 years of experience in Ai/ML, Python, Sql, AWS and GCP. Current CTC of 21 lakh (18+3). How much hike can I expect? Background of btech and MBA. Also among the two what would be a better choice, keeping aside the salary part? Deloitte Fractal

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

It's happened to me. The new title set me up for future opportunities though. Yes the raise is minimal at first but it's worth to stick it out as I got a bigger raise later on. Look into the situation though and make sure the new title has a clear path for growth and the new number they gave you is reflective of the work you're going to be doing.
That was my first reaction too — thank you!
I did this with an employee I wanted to hire. She was at top of the other range, so it gave me the ability to give them a raise in a year without bumping title.
Thank you!!
They also did this to a coworker, seemed like a negotiation tactic since they were more technical than management. They were hired about 2 years ago, only heard of it happening a few times outside of that but it's a pretty common negotiation tactic in the industry.
Thank you! Appreciate it

No it hasn’t happened to me. Instead, after 2 years - they changed my title and pay stayed the same. But I’m keeping my title for my resume though!
