Stealth layoffs at CWT confirmed.
Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

I don’t know why anyone at a private firm unless you are a very senior partner - would know what the actual percentages and numbers are. When Accenture went public we had to disclose everything but before then, we would say one thing publicly, do another thing privately, and no one was the wiser. EY hits the tape in a week, sure they’ll claim normal percentages related to performance too.

When (not if) PWC has layoffs, I very much doubt they’d try to hide that they’re due to Covid.
Yes they are definitely doing this. Sneaky businessmen 😀😀😀

At least y’all are getting a heads up. We only found out through Fishbowl.

Percentages are in line with “normal” years. People who are getting canned are claiming it’s covid-related when it’s not.

Okay, boss

Grow up, people.
If they did this, a Partner would either blackmail the firm for millions of dollars or expose the firm to the media. No CEO or latest in their right mind would be okay with that risk.
Do you even realize the number of people who would have to be complicit in something like this? Not everything is a nefarious conspiracy theory.
^^ ofcourse it won’t be hidden. But it will be masked as performance but not COVID as the reason.
Ex-PwC er here. It can happen. If folks go by the face value of leadership then they r dumb. I have seen ratings manipulated to kick people out of project and eventually firm. The environment is highly political. Even favoritism could not save folks at those times. And leadership are so spineless that they can’t vouch for their team for the sake of saving their ass.

I absolutely think PWC will lay people off due to Covid - but I doubt they’re being nefarious like it’s claimed here.
again, there’s no evidence that this is true and the percentages in each tier is comparable to previous years. i’m not sure why people are believing random, unnamed sources as opposed to pwc directors and partners that actually sat in on CRTs and were involved in rating decisions
^^ what you just said is a classic HR move. Don’t let people know before you strike.
When results drop, performance will drop leading to more lower performers.

Exactly. It’s not a conspiracy. Firm performance fills the honey pot, personal performance determines your portion. If the honey pot is smaller, either everyone gets less, or you keep fewer people.

There will be performance lay offs. But even the 5s are given more time to hang around this year.

Wow, in that case it really must be on a practice-by-practice basis.
The real question will be the makeup of those being affected.
Those saying numbers are normal. % can be flexed...
