@Executive Advisor 1: since this is anonymous and we are being transparent, would you be kind enough to divulge your total compensation as a Deloitte SM?
Well I hope you get it, OP. 💪🏻
Are you underpaid or are Amazon employees overpaid? Also... consider that perhaps they need to offer that kind of salary to have people hang around in the toxic culture
Definitely mean over paid....that's what I get for fishbowling early in the morning.
Just wait till you find out what the engineers make
Off topic a bit but, how did the convo come about? Did they reach out to you on LinkedIn? Did you reach out to them? I am underpaid at Accenture and looking into Big Tech. Trying to see what is appropriate!
Recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn
How many of you honestly know someone very close at FAANG- remove AAN? I know 2 in very close circle- less than 10 years experience and making 750 + a year with base, bonus and stocks. It was 1M plus before stocks dropped. They used to pay very high for talent they need. Situations may be changing now.
Yeah engineering - building large-scale apps, infrastructure, or machine learning solutions. Or product management with a strong tech and/or strategy background
It pays to be a builder. Strong technical skills, like CS or stats, can get you as far as hedge funds, which make so much money that even 7 figures for a non-exec still has a large ROI. Strong skills should let you surpass 300k with ~5 yoe, 500k with 7-9, and 750k with 10+

FYI if that’s the number during the INITIAL conversation, you can negotiate for higher if you get it
Time to jump. PwC cohort model is a joke. If you are super technical and have hot skills, there are definitely better places.
Let me know if you need a referral to EYP. You will be between $300k to $350k
I can use referral
I wanna reiterate that OP likely included 100% of their RSUs in their TC figure, when Amazon RSUs only vest 5% in year 1
D1 is a savage and I’m HERE FOR IT 🍿 👑
You can hit this at S& as a first year manager.
Including multi year RSUs in your single year comp is misleading
what level are you at pwc?
SM
Tech roles at big tech will always pay more than similar roles at a big 4. Basically u get paid way more and have less stress. There is a reason why getting an offer from big tech is hard
Was it for the Alliance Management and/or Partner BD Program Leader roles? It sounded a bit like a PwC Client Relationship Exec to me
No not yet, you?
I am at 250k+ with 8 Yoe is it bad should I target more
What are you making now? I think the stock is what really changes things.
200+bonus now. Yeah stock and that prorated bonus bump it up. Still it’s crazy how much FAANG pays.

That doesn’t seem very high 🤷♂️ once you’ve been in this market a bit you realize that all old comp norms are out the window.
Well it’s 50% more than I make now so I’m excited
My wife works for Amazon and they generally do not reveal the compensation details till you clear the interviews and are finally selected. The compensation details come in before signing the employment offer. Not sure how far ahead are you in the employment process at Amazon.
It’s just a preliminary conversation where recruiter provided the range. I’m sure once interviews are done and I’m locked to a specific role I’ll get a detailed offer
Pwc whats your total exp
