:). We also call it IUC, get ready for that.
P.S. 🖕🏻
🖕🏻back to PCAOB
Chase real rabbit holes there. Most of the time IPE, relies on other IPE. :D
EY has called it that for over a year as well
I think it's a different way of saying pbc
Blame the PCAOB...
@RSM it is not PCB ... well not really at all but it can be in your pcb list. For those lucky enough not to work with IPE it stands for information produced by entity. Think of some detail or schedule that is not straight from GL. Now think of how to make sure it is accurate and complete also considering source data and parameters if system generated.
IPE? What did I miss? What happened?
@D1 - lol yeah, I'm already familiar w that too 😂
back story - I work in IA and my last client had DT as the external auditors.. we had to test the shit out of IPEs and IUCs. But now, my client has EY as the external auditors and now all of EY's documentation calls it IPE. That shit is spreading like a virus.. 😂
Damn the person who spoke the first iteration of this acronym
To think that Deloitte had no idea what an IPE, let alone how to test an IPE. My first senior year with Deloitte was the year the IPE craze launched.
This is also why I left audit. National was putting huge focus on testing key reports for completeness/accuracy, including IPE. Client had over 100 key reports. Fuck that noise.
It's not like they invented the guidance.
IPE 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
What is that?
^sounds just like any other audit procedure that is performed. You always need to get completeness/accuracy over the source data you are using. This is basic auditing, not something new...
@D3 - you forgot Report Logic too.. On my last client, for our narratives we had to document how both management and IA gained comfort over the completeness and accuracy of source data, report logic, and parameters for all IPEs.. and it wasn't always the same testing procedures. 😒🔫
This is stuff that auditors should have been doing for years, but PCAOB is just cracking down now. Life of an auditor just got way shittier.
