I’m trying to pivot to PM after >3 years in finance and I have a 2nd round interview with CPO this week. Company has 3.7 on Glassdoor with complaints about CEO, “bro-y” culture, and hard to wfh. It’s a data analytics company with 5 PMs, was bought by a PE firm this year, and has a new (female) CEO as of Oct. Role is 50/50 hybrid, pays well vs what I make, and most importantly would be a foot in the door to PM. Is this a good place to be for PM? What else do I need to find out to know for sure?

Does your firm give you credit for hours that were written off? Sometimes I feel if you don’t lose anything for hours cut from the bill, you have incentives not to be 100% honest w/ your timesheet.

Does anyone here suffer from bipolar disorder? How do you manage it and working in law? I see a therapist, and a psychiatrist, and am on medication, but I still have days where I wake up and I’m so depressed I can’t move. I’m working on remedying this with my doctors, but how does one approach mental health issues with their employer? I never felt the need to until I realized how much being bipolar can affect my ability to work.

I’m in my 4th year at a small plaintiffs’ firm. Past two years I’ve received meager raises (5k) and terrible bonuses (3k). I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.
