That Bateman/Batman State Farm spot is pretty darn good

It’s alright but feels long. The writing is a little repetitive and milks the same joke for what feels like 5 minutes.

Still better than anything I’ve done in the last couple years though.

Former boss, she’s excellent. So is this.

I like the part where State Farm had to pull this from the Super Bowl because they cancelled policies for everyone who lost their homes in the LA fires and they figured the proper time to forget about that is about 4.5 weeks

So many thoughts..
first, I wonder why this wasn’t Super Bowl.
IMO, It’s overlong and too talky, but they went to a ton of effort and it shows. Its entertaining, so Good for them.
Conceptually it’s a bit of a long walk for a ham sandwich.
It’s not the best thing ever, but I’d never knock an agency getting this sold in and made. Congrats to them! 99% of ad folks would kill for this in their book.

Thanks for sharing, OP.

And Will Arnett as Batman with the podcast dig? Solid casting. At least I think that’s him.

the production was insane and there was a lot of good but the State Farm stuff always feels like it’s get further and further away from the center. it’s a lot to put on the back of one joke and the filler just seemed random. i don’t hate it but it just didn’t get to where i thought it could have gotten.

like

Link or it didn’t happen.

It’s wall to wall with dialogue, too much for a spot. Reckon it could have been thinned out. But maybe that’s just me.

Queue the guy, that says “Yeah it’s just you”

No, agree. It's a hilarious idea. But feels like one of those where the original idea was likely forced to where the final execution landed. Especially the repeated mentions of Bateman (vs Batman). Still good but could have been amazing.

I just got a job offer for an Entry Level Software Engineer at Boeing in Saint Louis. The salary is $82,000 with an $8,000 sign on bonus. I was hoping for an offer closer to 90k base and I don’t care too much for a sign on bonus. However, this is a lot more than what I’m making now, and would be my first SWE job. Should I counter? If so, how would I go about doing that? Thanks!

So look, not trying to be a dick here, but legit, why do people who live in nyc always give off the vibe that they’re so proud of themselves? Like they’ve accomplishing something just by being there. Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .
