If you are thinking of starting a law practice or growing one with little or no capital, you need to get the book, “Starting & Growing a Law Practice without Breaking the Bank.
It was written based on personal experience and research. I started my practice 11 years ago in the middle of the 2008/2009 recession with about $500 and I have grown the practice significantly over the years using affordable and available resources.
I also coach solo practitioners and small firm attorneys. https://www.amazon.com/Starting-Growing-Practice-Without-Breaking/dp/1099523303

1. Bill every call and send an invoice. They will stop.
2. Tell them to write their thoughts throughout the day and send you one email so his retainer is used wisely.
Just don’t answer lol have your secretary force them schedule an appointment to chat. Also, as others have said, bill them until they get the message and be sure to explain your billing: I always advise my clients to try n accumulate a bunch of questions and ask them all at once so they can save their retainer (and my time).
First send a really big bill. If that doesn’t stop them then schedule calls and don’t take any reach outs other than the schedule
Send weekly bills
Send weekly bills and bill for absolutely everything! I have this same issue with a client who thinks I’m on call for her. Emails me 3 times today and I had an out of office notice as I’m in a seminar. She calls my assistant after the third email and knowing I’m out of office begs her to tell me to have a letter sent to opposing party…ugh 🙄

+1 have your assistant set up a scheduled phone call for all questions at once to save your time and sanity
