The current job market is pretty insane. Most of the companies are opening up to hire candidates with visa needs. Please hit the iron while it’s hot.

This may be a hot take - but as a younger person, working with parents of small kids (especially new parents) is so frustrating. I frequently find myself responsible for picking up the slack due to their family commitments - it’s also somehow completely socially acceptable for kids to barge into zoom meetings screaming. I wouldn’t find it nearly as bothersome if I felt like leadership and parent colleagues took my issues and non work commitments seriously in addition to that of parents and kids

I'm getting ready to accept an offer at a new agency, but what I really want is to go in-house. I had 6 very positive interviews at a co. but lost out by a hair. They said they're growing & would keep me in mind for future relevant openings. Is it worth pinging that co's recruiter to let her know I'm considering a role at a new agency & ask if they expect any openings soon? Feels unlikely, but I'd hate to start a new job and then get a call from the company I actually want to work for.

Are consulting firms (non-tech) still hiring H1B holders? I applied to strategy& at pwc through a referral link and my rejection letter came in under 12 hours. It’s so quick that I can’t tell if it’s cuz of my qualifications or because of my visa status.

How do y’all split rent and expenses with your partner? Mine and I go 50/50 but he essentially makes 2x as much… am I wrong for thinking he should be paying a bit more? At least until we’re both making the same amount.

Can anyone recommend sample billing entries for time spent “thinking” about a case. I routinely look at my files to see where I’m at with discovery, upcoming deadlines, potential dispositive motions, etc., but I’m not necessarily reviewing specific documents or producing work product. I also spend time following up with paralegals/assistants on items to I’ve delegated to them and some days the time spent can be significant. I’d like to find a way to capture this time without it being cut.
