The job market is brutal! I had a great conversation with the HM, I followed up after and they responded immediately that they enjoyed our conversation and that I will be hearing very soon. They had discussed in details the next steps so I was super confident I was moving to onsite. Over a week crickets, reached out to recruiter nothing. I think I was one of the first to be interviewed and they probably interviewed exceptional candidates afterwards but damn, it’s tough. Just ranting 😅

When is it appropriate to follow up after an interview for a lateral position? Had a screener call 2 weeks ago and then an interview with the partner + senior associate last Thursday where it was mentioned that they would “likely” want me to meet more people. I’m getting anxious but don’t want to bug them!

I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary.
