Yeah, sometimes they do that. Your boss doubtlessly knows what they’re doing and probably doesn’t even read it.

You’re fine. Just don’t take it personally or overreact. No need to do anything any different.

Besides, you should be drafting emails as if your boss might read them anyways…

“This isn’t yet in our queue for review…looks like we’ve requested the pertinent details a few times and still haven’t received it.”

My whole process is designed to clap back. I’ve got 20+ deals at any given time; I don’t have the time to hound requestors to provide me answers to the 4 bullet point intake questions. Conversely I also make sure if a draft is pending, it’s due to other stakeholder input being outstanding.

Are you m&a?

Truthfully, even if they were pushing for arguably reasonable points, my secondary reaction is that the contract value is so small, is the juice really worth the squeeze? Lol ..

You're only one person, but maybe this is a good argument for letting you hire someone or use OC more

im at a pub co so there are atrorneys just doing other roles

My total federal withholding tax last year was approximately $12k and this year I will have 40% more in reported income on my employer W2 and anticipate higher that $12k federal withholding for my new job. 1/3 Question on tax treatment of nonpriority unsecured claims converted into long-term note decreased total liabilities under Chapter 11. An accrual based C-Corp taxpayer completed a Chapter 11 reorganization and converted a total of $1M A/P to suppliers into a $410K LT note (a $590K liability reduction). Should we view this $590K as the Sec. 108(a)(1)(A) excludable income? After reading through IRS Pub 4681, I think it makes sense to view the $590 as "Reduced Price After Purchase", but not

Joining Google in a few weeks and assuming I will be moving to the Bay Area sometime this year. For people who have kids, what do you do about schools? My wife and I are looking to buy a place but most the public schools in the South Bay are rated terribly. It’s good to note we don’t have kids yet but are trying to think longer term. Are schools even considered in the resale value of a house? Thoughts and insights appreciated!

Can anyone help me wrap my head around this post Series C start-up equity offer? It’s an IP director position, the the base is $170 with 10% bonus (both lower than I was expecting). There’s also an equity component: 0.15% of current fully diluted equity. This equates to about 30000 shares at a strike price of $2. They also indicate the preferred stock price is $6 and preferred stock equity is $188k (whatever that means). They are in the middle of a new financing and valuation round.

Has anyone been given an offer or received further movement on their application after a month or more from your last interview? Not sure if it’s odd that the company reached out after my final round interview to have a call and “discuss next steps” but then they haven’t responded to me since I’ve followed up (I’ve poked 3 times every 11 days or so but I plan to leave it be now until they respond).

For those working in house, how much “from scratch” document drafting are you doing vs. reviewing and revising “outside documents”. For example, if your company wants to enter into a joint venture company with another entity, are you drafting the company agreement “from scratch” or is it based on internal forms? Or are you getting outside counsel to do it?

Hello, hoping for some input on how to time a job change. At a startup - we are doing well now but unless we have complete turnover in management I don’t think we have a bright future post-COVID. I could coast here 1-2 years before having to look. I’ve been here for a little under a year. This is my second in house job after 10 years at the same firm. The market is hot now, probably won’t be in 1-2 years and I am getting interest for good roles. OTOH I don’t want to look like a job hopper.
