What is the culture like, type of work and reputation of Capco in the Data & Analytics space?
I have some good ex colleagues who moved over there and also looked up on LinkedIn and see lots of seemingly smart and accomplished people in their D&A team in the UK.
I'll ask my ex colleagues too, but wanted to see if people here have any opinion or information on this too.
TIA

People at your level or higher? Seems like something we all face...
You have to stand up for yourself. A polite 'excuse me, I wasn't finished' lets you finish your sentences for example. Also, I think everyone has experienced people trying to blame them for their mistakes/take credit for their work to some extent. You can't control that, but you can choose whether you let it happen quietly or if you respond. If you let it happen and don't say anything, the person is much more likely to do it again.
Omg this has what society has created... people who blame others besides themselves. Im a straight white male and everything you just said can apply to me and most other young-20's or something at a bank. Stop with this god damn victim mantality
... are you kidding me... comparing to slavery or bringing slavery up in this argument is absolutely bizarre. Its like the people who compare Trump to Hitler. You just lose the argument automatically.
Drawing a parallel to slavery where (to be clear) african americans were imprisoned and killed, to potential workplace discrimination where people may (they dont) take credit for your ideas is quite insane
@Macquarie1 has a great point..Now who wants to stop riding and get off the tiger?
^ Can't believe I got into a situation where I have to explain this
Don't think it is all about victim mentality..Slavery did not persist for many centuries just because the slaves had a victim mentality..nor did it end in most parts of the world because all of them decided to fight back..the masters have had a lot of power and people need to fight back but someone also needs to frequently call out the BS of the masters
The masters being white male and the diversity being non-white non-male has more parallels with slavery than your example. However, since you brought it up, very few people predicted what Hitler was capable of in early 1930s
And what about the difference in position between slaves and people working in investment banking/PE/HF/asset management? Maybe a minor detail to consider...Not sure about your firm policies, but I can leave my firm whenever I want for another well-paid job, to start my own firm or to travel around the world for example, don't think many slaves could do that.
I see your point and that is the reason I am drawing a parallel and not saying that it is the exact same situation..the limits on movement these days are nowhere close to the days of slavery just like a new Hitler would have to face bigger hurdles than the last one but movement of labor is not as frictionless for everyone as one would like them to be
