There is an echo when I speak on calls due to my home office being relatively empty. I added a carpet but hasn’t made as big an impact as I would like. Any tips

Get noise cancelling headset or microphone. Easy. It blocks echos. No need to redo your room or furniture.

Exit to industry. No calls only slack or team text messages. (If that’s the case lol)

Lol I wish

If all that doesn't work, maybe try getting an exorcist. Spirits might be trying to mess with you to sabotage your career!

Curtains, couch/chaise, anything that absorbs sound waves

like

Bookshelves help a lot, especially if you have actual books to put in them. There are also a lot of places you could get acoustic panels, or canvas art to absorb some sound

Wear headphones to avoid feedback

Use a headset on calls

Maybe decorate some? Why are you living/working in a mostly empty box?

Maybe the echo is inside your head

Is it worth driving 1hour+ each way for free childcare twice per week? We are having trouble finding a quality nanny for two days (we have a great nanny on other two days). Rather than continuing to pay big $$$ for inconsistent and unreliable care, it thinking of driving to my dads house to let him take the kids while I work from his home office. May be problematic if Both me and my husband are needed in the office. Do you think it’s a good idea? Will save me $260 per day / $520 per week

Health question: Does anyone else suffer from nerve pain in their butt/hips from sitting all day? My research tells me it’s piriformis pain. It means my sit bones are irritating my butt muscle, which irritates my sciatic nerve. It can be excruciating and hurt even when I stand. I bought a fancy seat cushion for my office chair, and I have a standing desk. Nothing helps. The pain has been around for about a month. Anyone else?? What did you do?

I’m not talking about mask usage, hand washing times, physical distancing in classrooms, etc. I don’t think we can expect Ts and Ss to come back and just hop right into academics. Need sometime to process together, get some SEL, be face to face social again, etc. Just wondering if districts out there have gotten a head start on this task.
