I've been feeling this way a lot lately. Thinking about starting a new job makes me want to vomit, I hate being the new person. But it is better than staying and never growing.
For me the signal to make a move was something like that. I'd find myself feeling pigeonholed, stuck doing the same tasks. The material could be interesting, but I didn't feel like I was really making any progress. When you start to feel that, it's time to get serious about finding something more interesting.
I'm going through this currently. I'm just not sure media is still for me. I think I might be ready to move on, but it's all I know professionally. It's hard to decide to stay, move on, change jobs... I wish someone could just tell me what to do! But alas, we have to make our own choices.
