Thinking about buying a place in the GTA, but I’m nervous about locking myself into a mortgage on a consulting salary that could vanish with one reorg. Anyone actually banking on consulting long term, or is everyone using it as a launchpad into something more stable?

Curious what the base and commission structure is for inside sales and associate director of sales in biotech (also anyone else who wants to share pls put industry). Paid hourly or salary? At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). I’m underpaid at $53000 with $3500 cap per quarter.

What are some of the best industry companies to work for in LA with high strategy / ops comp?

I make $100K with 12% bonus and was offered a role $130k with 15-20% bonus. 4YOE in provider industry.

I am in a comfortable spot with a good team but the work is dull, new role would be consulting with more work & travel

2-after that interview went very well
3 - hr discussion with salary , ready to initiate my offer in 2 hr
But she called me in a minute on Friday and told me that you need to give the test again.

I have 15+ years of US and international healthcare YOE (clinical ops, mgmt, prod imp, apms), 10+ of which have been in non-trad consulting roles. I don’t have a masters but am applying now. I’ve been contracting on a number of fed projects for BAH with VA, HHS, etc for 5 years as SME/imp spec.

Life / Career Advice: I applied to medical school since my MCAT score was set to expire, ended up getting into 1 program. I also have an opp to join a well funded/well established Healthtech Startup (6 figure salary w/ equity + benefits) as a BD professional. Evening! Dog owners who live in condo rentals downtown.. did you tell your landlord you had a dog? I’m in a rental with a lease that says no pets (i’m sure a common clause?) and i didn’t have any pets moving in. 6 months in, i got a puppy lol. I don’t want to invite potential conflict by updating my landlord, my lawyer partner says the no pets clause is void in toronto anyway - but I worry about a bad landlord reference if they find out i.e come for repairs.
