Happy flight check-in day!
Anyone from Boston Consulting Group Boston Consulting Group (BCG) working in non-consulting - Technology/Engineering/Global Services?
How's the work life balance? Glassdoor reviews are full of "long working hours" and hence wanted to know if it's the same with non-consulting folks as well?
How far is it true across the organisation?
Please help me shed some light to decide.
Thanks.

So when do we find out our rating?
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

When any firm goes over the top to sell how good their WLB culture is, its always a red flag for me.
it literally says what you're saying in the caption. Execs have advantages over other employees.
After a suicide in my immediate family, I begged for a local project so I could support my family and get therapy. The company couldn’t care less. I’m a “resource”, not a person. They should be honest and admit WLB doesn’t exist - don’t lie and treat people so inhumanly
please take care of yourself
Yea I was thinking the same...Adam Grants work life podcast is filled with Accenture WLB ads
I buy it. In the end, why does the exec need to stay around for IT implementation. Say hello once every other week and then fly back.
The more I think about this the more I’m willing to bet you’ll see a lot more stuff like this combined with articles highlighting women in leadership positions once Julie officially takes over.
A lot of news ends up being sponsored bs, was that way when I was at SAP and they would pay for stories in WSJ
I was a Sr. Manager at ACN, and I begged and begged to work local or to dramatically limit my travel. My MDs kept telling me that the next project would be local...for 3 projects in a row.
I finally gave up because staffing strategy is always going to be set at the MD/project level and never at the Practice/National level, and MDs don't care about limiting travel aa long as you can deliver and sell.
Off lately , Accenture MD level designations are resources that are shipped en MASSE from India / Philippines/ other regions to support the local organizations in US grow and scale ( instead of hiring ) . These folks can speak about WLB as they personally experienced hellish experience oversees.
