I’ve been with Accenture for 10 years and am about to take maternal leave. I got an interesting conversation with HR yesterday about leaving Accenture after maternal leave, and the kicker is to join the client. I got a couple of questions for you guys:

One...did anyone leave Accenture right after maternal leave? If so, what happened? Did they have to pay back anything?

Planning a trip to Rome and Naples with day trips to Tivoli and Pompeii. Is 1 week enough? I feel like reading through 3/4 day Rome and 2 day Naples itineraries, the trip seems rushed. I have unlimited PTO but my SO is limited in time (but luckily he can work extra hrs and then use less PTO). I would say max we could do is 1.5 weeks but adding on 3-5 more days seems almost too much? Thoughts? For reference, I did Venice-Florence-Rome in a week and it seemed okay but it also wasn’t as planned out

How do firms calculate how much parental leave to provide, either paid or unpaid. Or do they just pick a number, like “yeah they can get to know their kid in a few weeks and I couldn’t possibly have that attorney out for 12 weeks?” I’m at a small firm, no FMLA or state requirement. We get four weeks paid and four weeks unpaid. Would like to push for more but not sure how to argue costs side of it.

I have an urgent situation that I need advice for: what job to take? I currently have 2 job offers. Offer A (Scientist 3): 70k with full benefits including 15 PTO days and 5k tuition assistance yearly. It was sent to me last Wednesday and yesterday they left me a voicemail asking for a decision at my earliest convenience. We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid."
