This is so AWKWARD. We had our holiday party last night and everyone was drinking (open bar) a group of us went outside to grab cabs together and go home, everything was cool. Tell me why once I got in the cab I got a drunk call from my manager asking if he could get a cab to my place and if I would give him the address 🤦🏻‍♀️. I'm single and not mad that he finds me attractive, more worried that all my other coworkers heard him calling me while they waited with him!!

I wouldn't worry too much. Unlikely he did in front of other colleagues. And even if he did, more of a reflection on him than you. If you feel strongly about it i.e. don't want him to do that again. Then honestly I would just grab a coffee with him and ask him about in a jokey way; "hey do u remember you called me? How drunk were you" Everyone does stupid shit when they're drunk. Just ask. Otherwise you'll end up worse case scenario thinking when u never know maybe he called the wrong number or just went through a bad break up and is a bit lonely, maybe he really likes you....nothing wrong in either of those things. I think the concern is that you don't want to be potentially viewed in a negative light at work. Which is very fair and professional of you. Part of being a professional is dealing with these situations in an elegant and non judgemental way. He'll end up respecting you more for dealing with it head on in a kind but firm way than sweeping it under the rug. Hope this helps.

I would always give someone the benefit of the doubt before an escalation to HR.

I think companies have policies. I believe the first requests ok, but once you say no, then your manager should stop. Just be careful that you don't violate company policies.

Oh, God. That must have been quite the show for the others lol! Let's just hope he remembers it the next day and actually apologizes to you for it. If it ever happens again and it makes you uncomfortable, don't hesitate to go to HR.

Have you talked to him since the incident? I really do hope he apologized for it and that it doesn't happen again. I'm cringing from the thought of it since he's your manager.

I'm curious how the both of you dealt with it the day after this happened. I don't want to think much about it but it just creeps me out. I hope you still feel safe after this.

How has everything been, OP? I hope he apologized for his behavior that night. I couldn't imagine how awkward the day after this incident was.

Been talking with a couple of co workers about our boss. He had hip replacement about a year ago and since then he's been more and more erratic in behavior. Since the team is remote we're not sure what is going on, but should we mention this observation to HR?

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

I'm worried that if I speak up, she'll make my life even harder. I don't want to lose my job because of this—do you guys have any advice?

I accepted a new job, they said PTO was “generous.” I find out it’s 19 days a year of PTO (which includes sick days). I have two young children and we like to vacation 1-2x a year (no more than a few days away each time). Am I crazy that this is pretty limited time off? 8 of the normal holidays off during the year (working the week between Christmas and NYE). Thoughts? I dont know if lack of PTO is a good reason to back out, is it?

What are some good practices during the sales phase of a potential project to execute before the contract is signed? Seems obvious but would love some ideas on standard operating procedures that help with seamlessly handing over a signed contract to the account team. For example, speaking to the potential client explicitly about their role in staying on schedule, reviewing scope creep consequences, etc.
