Those of you who have moved on to smaller firms (top 150) after working at big firms, how do you stay sane with the general lack of client complexity, staff quality, etc? After 9 years at RSM, then 2.5 at a smaller firm, I can’t help but be bored and want more but also don’t really care to deal with big firm BS either. Seems like we get bigger clients and then I’m the only person who knows how to do them and staff don’t get repetition for the concepts to stick.

Mainly the CFO thinks no one should be working from home, and working from anywhere but the office is considered a day off to him. Is this a good reason to apply for other jobs right now?
