If you're concerned enough to be questioning what to do, that's probably the answer. Keep them covered up while you looking for a permanent job. There's a good chance no one will care, but why risk it? It can be hard enough to find a job these days, no need to complicate things.

Good idea
I think that if you’re seeing teachers rocking their ink, that’s a pretty good indicator that it’s not a big deal. But I’d still keep them covered for interviews. You know, just in case. Once you’re in, you can decide from there.
We had a principal with full sleeves, but we never saw them during school and definitely not during the interview. He had earrings too and asked the superintendent if it was ok that he wore them. They told him "yes", but he always wore tasteful ones.
As you’re subbing in a day-to-day basis, you’re probably worrying about it too much. Let ‘em show here and there- especially Fridays. It’s pretty cool to see the different connections you’ll make. I have a full sleeve of teacher things- a stack of books, an apple, a glove, owl, etc. The kids love asking about it.
But- when you’re interviewing, wear professional clothing that covers your tattoos as best as you can.
I have a nose ring but I wear a stud or a hoop only occasionally. When interviewing, I didn’t wear it for a week or two before though so I didn’t look so much like I had one.
My coworker now has a whole sleeve. When I was interviewing, she didn’t show the sleeve at the time so I think she was very straight lace and cookie cutter clean. I’d say cover until you are hired for a position and once you are in, slowly let it show until it’s no biggie. It sometimes depends on your admin or district though.
If someone comments about anything at a school, your question should always be,
"How does that impact student achievement?"
If they can't answer, ignore them.
I've always told my students to keep them covered up until they have the job.
