Personally I love the dress and it’s stylish with mesh tights so she isn’t even showing much skin. If you’re curvy in a dress you’re curvy in jeans. Ass is ass. I’ve learned to accept this and west what I was because no one cares. No one stops the fat guys from wearing shirts that are too tight or pants that only fit their muffin tops. If for some reason I feel self conscious I wear a blazer or a cardigan. DM me as theory outlet has good dress/cardigan/blazer combos.

@SA1 exactly! Thank you!
This is a super cute outfit in my opinion
I’d say it’s too much. My general rule is nothing that tight or “bodycon” in the office, especially all over tight like that. The knit fabric will make it look tighter than say, a pencil skirt in a wool blend fabric since it’ll cling to everything. I also follow the more senior woman rule and there’s no way anyone in the offices I worked in (whether in my service line or on the executive team) would wear that to work.
I’ve worn ribbed sweater dresses to the office. I suppose it depends on your comfort level. Bring a cardigan or blazer to put over it if you decide you want to feel more covered up.
You look great! I love the shoes!
No way for me. I avoid inviting any commentary on or attention to my body in the workplace. If anyone wants to gossip about me it should be about my work, not my outfit or my body.
That’s fair - to me that goes to judging whether something is appropriate according to office culture. It sounds like you work in a more conservative workplace.
Yeah I would stick to the top only and combine with a more loose bottom
My rule for the office has always been that if I wear something more snug or tight on top, then the bottom has to flow or vice versa, never snug on top and bottom. The only out to this rule is to wear a long sweater or jacket over it. You want people to notice you for you and not your curves.

I wear knit sweater dresses but top with either a blazer or waist belt to pull together a more polished look. Probably wouldn’t wear a set since it feels a bit more casual.
I’m curvy so everything is bodycon on me 😬 The only alternative is buying things so large that I look like I’m wearing tents.
I’m also pretty curvy, true hourglass so I have similar challenges. I’m thinking I could get away with the top under a blazer but the skirt might be pushing it a bit
My rule for work is that I wait to see a well respected woman senior to me wearing something. If I haven’t, it’s probably not considered office appropriate.
Whelp. IDK then 😅
Skirt is a no for the office - flat out. Not even with a blazer. It’s cute, but not for office.
I think it’d be okay with a blazer or long cardigan
I am wearing a skirt like this in black right now! I am also pregnant so rocking it with a bump. But I don’t see any issues with this as long as you don’t work in a super conservative place, it isn’t see through AT ALL, and you can’t see panty lines or the outline of your lady parts (that is when I know something is too too tight haha)
Do you knit? A fellow clothes maker?!
I’m just about to cast on a soufflé tee.
Compulsive knitter! I sew too, but that’s harder to find time for / sneakily do while on zoom meetings.
I just finished Lily Kate’s Ribbsdale vest and started on her Poison Apple Top!
The soufflé tee is so cute, what yarn are you using?
I wear one like this to work with a belt and it’s always been fine (like photo 2, but without the jacket)

I think so. But depends on culture. Is it more conservative?
Then yes. I think that should be fine.

I wear a similar skirt with a loose blouse and a blazer.

I think if you can pair the skirt with a loose long sweater that would be nice too.
I wear a bodycon slip dress with a little loose turtle neck sweater on top to work and get compliments all the time including from my vp and svp. I wear it in black though and I’m curvy too. It’s all about how you style it.
Thanks! I’m thinking I’ll make it as separates and do them one at a time for work and keep the set for dates/brunches as suggested
I do not care for form-fitting clothing in the office environment. Unprofessional.
Pencil skirts that are well-fitted and the hemline falls past the fingertips when the arms are relaxed are fine. High slits: not ok.
Love a sheath dress that skims instead of sucks at every bulge.
Shell under a blazer: classic as long as the neckline doesn’t give too much away.
Read a great quote years ago: spandex should be felt, not seen.
I don’t think camel-toe yoga pants and vacuum-packed turtlenecks with stilettos result in anyone being treated seriously in the workplace.
For context: there are no female partners or SMs, we’re largely wfh. Client meetings are definitely more conservative, but wfh the guys (incl partners) are in hoodies, graphic tees, baseball caps, etc, and in the office jeans and a casual button down, tech shirt or sweater are common.
Who is talking about crop top bodycon?
I wish this wasn't the case, but it's about how others at your workplace see it, not how you/us on fishbowl see it. What do you expect from this dress in the workplace...?
To be cozy, comfy and proud of wearing something pretty that I made
