Im working at a big multi-product company and we're having 5 dedicated product teams, however, teams are working in silos. Each team's has its own process, design system, technology etc. We identified that most of the teams use and need components that were already conceptualised, designed and developed, for our other products, and we are starting to create a global set of components, a global design system that we will use on all our products. I’m a first year that’s inching toward second year. Partners in my group say “sometimes getting thrown into the deep end is the best way to learn.” However, I feel so lost. I feel like saying the above is just an excuse for not wanting to take the time to actually teach new associates.

Former big law associate here who burned out. Now a corporate inhouse counsel.

Been recovering and considering going back to actual legal practice.

I feel I need a new practice area.

One that impacts people’s lives and is meaningful, but where you don’t have to deal with disturbing facts and personal tragedies.

Random partner asked a litigation-related question to a partner I frequently work with (i’m a transactional associate). My partner cc’d me and said for me to briefly look. Asked the library. They got me a great case. Sent it back. Now the random partner is asking for more cases in another circuit.

Me(jr): asked to lead a call for a different deal as training. Mid-level doesn't take notes (also on call) and tells me it's the job if the junior to take notes.
