Thoughts on getting a hotel credit card? Thinking about the Bonvoy Boundless (3 free night sign up offer). Gives you a free night each year and better status for $95/yr Any reason not to get it? - Don't travel for work anymore. 3-4 vacations per yr - Have a CSR already - Typically stay at Marriott properties - Not concerned about the 5/24 rule. Not directly related but I'd consider downgrading your CSR to a no AF card, and then getting the CSP to get the 100k bonus.

Pro tip, renew CSR, get the $300 in credit applied, move points to another chase card ie freedom. Cncel CSR For full refund, but retain the statement credit. Open CSP and collect bonus.

I just signed up. Decent deal. What’s a CSR, AF, CSP, and 5/24 rule? Help with the acronyms!!

CSR - Chase Sapphire Reserve CSP - Chase Sapphire preferred AF - Annual fee 5/24 - can only open 5 new cards during a given 24 month window for a lot of issuers. Chase follows that typically as well

I hold my Bonvoy Amex (converted from SPG card) because the free night covers the $95 fee each year and the other perks (15 elite nights, Amex offers, etc.) make it worthwhile

That's what I'm thinking

My H1B visa transfer with EY has been approved. We have received the e-approval. Can I now resign or give notice at my current firm? The guidance apparently is to wait for physical copy of the approval before officially resigning. But that date is uncertain and I’m afraid I could get the physical copy a day before my start date or a week after that. I’d like to give my firm around two weeks notice and I am scheduled to start on 27th Sept. Thoughts? As usual, radio silence from my EY recruiter.

No work travel in the immediate future on current engagement. AA Platinum Pro status going to expire if I don’t get $2,000 EQD’s by year-end. Think I’ll hit ~$1,200-$1,300 with personal travel. Life of non-immigrants depend on the Visa they hold and it’s so sad these companies don’t have a team where we can speak to someone immediately in case of a visa emergency situation . In EY you need to submit a form and wait for days together to get a reply from a human. Mean time you would have gone through 5 anxiety attacks.

Hey! I've always wanted to get into IB (prestige, money, you name it), however now that I'm in a more laid back environment (better WLB, "easier work") it doesn't seem as attractive as before and the pay is quite good for an analyst level (I think the pay is competitive even comparing with IB's pay in my country) . I wanted to know if anyone had the same experience and what were your thoughts (pursue an MBA and leave your comfort zone and "good pay" or just stick with it). TIA!
