Only if you get payed more, better hours, and are happier.
Temp to perm means the company is in trouble and can't hire, so most people who take temp to perm do so out of desperation, so don't expect to be on a varsity team. But go if you gotta.
I would go for it if it's a job where you think you'll be happier. If you're good at what you do there's a good chance you go perm. If you don't, you shouldn't have too much trouble picking up something else
I disagree with above. Too many unknowns of the specific scenario to jump to such an generalization. I'm currently looking for just such positions so I'm able to not commit and have bigger flexibility while looking for what I really want to do next...
I had a crappy experience with temp to perm that turned into "temp as long as possible and dangle perm to keep people around." I bailed in favor of proper full time. I say stick with the sure thing
AAD, why else would a company do temp to perm? A-list talent wouldn't take that gig.
If project requires extra help and there's a possibility to have more work but too soon to tell. That's how I had an AS come in to help me with insane workload for a crazy program launch that span outside the scope and I was drowning. We didn't know enough to promise turning FT but it looked promising to turn that way. We loved the person and offered FT position which they declined because liked working freelance and jumping around projects and new people. And like I said, I myself am looking for something similar as I want flexibility in figuring out next move ...
How'd the client take it when she declined the offer? Must've set off alarm bells.
CD1, all I'm saying is your scenario is one of many and not representative of others or based on solid stats from anywhere. All we post here is anecdotal... OP, can take it or leave it / decide what's best for them from there
No, it didn't. We had a great client relationship and client always knew this person was temp. We had not shared with client FT offer to that person so no need to share with client that the person declined. It's not as complicated or hard all the time as you may think. It's a matter of proper management
