Thoughts on leaving an agency to do fundraising paid social campaigns for a major nonprofit. I’m currently a paid media director at a small agency with good seniority and good salary. I’m thinking of joining a very large, very well known international nonprofit and run their fundraising campaigns on paid social. Anyone working in fundraising/advocacy advertising? Is it high pressure? Anyone do advertising for nonprofits? Salary is lower but job security is much higher.

Been working at a startup law firm doing transactional work and recently the partner of another firm doing private defense litigation has attempted to scalp me with a base pay well above my current. Likely going to turn it down seeing as I enjoy the flexibility of where I’m at but any experience with this and how to appropriate handle/leverage this event for a positive result with current employer?

Considering pivoting into a local MM IB. As my title suggests, my technical skills aren’t as honed as one who has focused on the analysis route. How much of being an Analyst at a smaller IB is technical skill heavy coming into the role? I hold my 7, 66, 24, and am not worried about getting the 79. Any input for how realistic this is? When looking at one particular firm’s career page it doesn’t mention technical skills or modeling once, which led me to believe it may be less important than soft.

I’m smart, get things done, self motivated. however I’ve hit career ceilings because I’m incapable of schmoozing, playing office politics, aligning myself with people who can boost my career. It’s just not in me. But I haven’t come to terms with it. Every time I go on LinkedIn, I see some idiot I used to work with has been promoted or jumped ship to some very senior role and it kills me inside because I know that I’m far more capable and yet will never make the same money.

Currently unemployed, and looking at a job offer of around 62k base, small firm. Not my preferred choice but this is the first offer in three months. They also took a month to get me the offer with corona and internal restructuring. Two questions:
1) The contract doesn’t mention a notice period in the probation period. What’s a good way to ask? 2) If I manage to secure another offer between contract signing and start date, would this involve any financial liabilities?
