I went to purdue. If you’re talking about actual purdue university it’s a great school. If you’re talking about purdue global, it’s a for profit university (formerly Kaplan) and would not recommend.
Yeah, I think the large public universities are probably some of the best places to go if you want to get into Big Four. My office recruits heavily from the Big Ten/Big 12 schools in my state.
It's accounting, as long as she gets a cpa no one cares where you went to school
If this wasn’t said I was going to say it lol. CPA is all the firms care about. And even then it’s to check a box.
The university is fine. The online part is probably the bigger question.
We hire accountants from Purdue. It is a very good school. I know nothing about the online program.
Yes, sorry, I meant Purdue Global
They are accredited by ACBSP. Make sure her state accepts that for the requirements to sit for CPA.
The one accountant from Purdue I know got fired less than a year in. #purdon’t
In all seriousness tho, they get hired. Their recruiting isn’t as heavy/built out as something like Indiana’s for Big 4/Public, so it may require a little more effort on her part to get interviews in the first place, but it’s not like she would be auto-rejected purely based on school. There’s a CPA shortage in the field, so if she goes and becomes CPA eligible, there shouldn’t be much of an issue finding opportunity.
