A1 has the MOST important tip -- go to Baked&Wired in Georgetown. You will not regret it.
Georgetown sucks hard for food. Go to Shaw, eastern market, Columbia heights, or 14th street for good eats
Nah brah. You gotta stay at that Trump Hotel. I hear you get extra police security and amenities because no one but foreign diplomats stay there 😏
Georgetown has ranked world class restaurants. Dc food on average is pretty bad overall
The Westin Georgetown is my favorite hotel in DC. It isn't fancy from a room or amenities perspective, but the people who work there have been there a long time and do a great job of taking care of guests. Been staying there since 2010. It is an easy walk across the bridge into Georgetown proper, and there are plenty of other places within a decent walk or is it Uber ride in the district.
For Starwood the W is legit
It’s a nice hotel. Not very special. Average property. In a busy part of town but not the center of capital. Close to Georgetown which has great eats and shopping (I don’t care for shopping but food is good). Must go to baked and wired and falafel inc!! Good central location to walk around the city. Across the street from Michelin star blue duck tavern (good brunch).
My goto. Can run to Lincoln memorial, next to Rasika which is amazing Indian
Sweetgreen nearby too
@EY yes, thats why it's the newest US city to have a Michelin Guide.
@EY1 what????? Please elaborate. Totally baffled. Georgetown has always been known as a giant tourist trap and has 1-2 good places but are quite expensive
Rasika, Blue duck tourist trap? Fuck outta here.
@EY1 those are not Georgetown bruh. Both are west end...
Westins, aka “Beige palaces” are boring as F.
My dad stays at Westins
TIL 3 blocks from georgetown U and 1 block from the Westin Georgetown is not Georgetown.
Who cares how boring the place you sleep in is
Check out Bar Mini for cocktails if you're into exquisite drinks. Minibar for dinner first would be ideal but you needed to make reservations for that last month.
Thanks everyone!
@Ey1 is okay bruh
Thank you A3, I appreciate that insight. I use to work at a hotel during college.
Although we weren’t the Ritz by any means, we took pride in doing our jobs with class to ensure that our guest felt as if they were staying at a Ritz.
Good to know that I will be walking into a place where people take pride in what they do, and aren’t just looking for the quick easy dollar.
