Given that I cannot engineer software and have no particular interest in learning how to engineer software, this doesn’t really upset me at all.
95% of us can’t do basic math. The fact that we get paid anywhere near this guy is great.
OP mentally unwell
😂😂😂
This really isn't the flex you think it is. On cravath scale assuming bonus you're making the same towards the end except that you made more money in the first 3 years. Even accounting for the 3 years opportunity cost of law you're at best at a loss of ~$300K, which likely more than evens out as salary progression stalls for SWE3 but keeps increasing for at least 3 more years for lawyers. Plus, I'm assuming this includes equity as most techies like to include, in which case bonus is more predictable than market swings.
OP, are you 12?

Just doing God's work reminding where we sit in the totem pole.
The whole point of making money is to have the money, so why would any lawyer care about what a software engineer makes?
What does SWE stand for
Yeah I can't engineer software so this has nothing to do with me.
Most definitely fake lol, no SWE makes that much in Texas. At best, SWEs in CA make that much including equity (provided they survive the layoffs)
Eh, trust me, it's possible if you're in the right company (partner and many friends are SWEs in CA, TX, NY), and agreed, probably including equity.
I’ll take it further I hope software engineers make a million per year. Literally who cares.
