Tips for how to prepare for a SQL interview technical assessment? Interviewing for a data analyst role coming from a marketing background. I feel pretty comfortable with most beginner questions I’ve tried, but am struggling with some intermediate problems. I would like to improve my skills over the next day or so if I can. Not sure how thorough this assessment will be but I’d say I start to struggle past joins with subqueries, window functions etc.

Chatgpt. Use it to create increasingly harder SQL interview style questions in a Q/A format. I use it to brush up on any coding skills before an interview

It didn't help me out with my assessment 🤨

There are plenty of sites available that test your ability on the platform. If they are using any platform, then the best option is to take the practice assessment on that platform before your actual assessment.

Just landed a full time gig, looking to get some furniture so I’m not working on my parents’ kitchen table during this remote period. Any recommendations for desks and chairs? I’m hoping to find something that’s easy to assemble and break down for when I need to move, and something that won’t cost an arm and a leg.

I know everyone has a different kind of setup that works for them. I currently have a laptop, drawing pad, second monitor, and a desk riser.

Ideas please:

I’m inheriting a “team” of siloed strong individual developers who are on different work streams and are very jaded and struggling with motivation. Most are contractors. They have legit gripes about the client, but I won’t be able to solve those without getting cross-discussions going with knowledge-sharing across our “team“. Any suggestions for remote team-building that won’t just be shrugged off with cynicism, or worse, ignored?

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.

I have 5 YOE in Analytics... always thought I wanted to be a DS, but every job (even the junior ones) required experience in ML development. Though I am part of the ML project, I'm not the person develop the model. And I have a hard time when the interviewer ask about how I develop the model and what hyperparameters I tuned. I know the thought process and stuff but 'I' wasn't the one who did that part in the project. How to convince them that I could do the job without taking credit of others.
