Tips on giving two weeks notice to an extremely toxic boss as gracefully (and with as little backlash) as possible?

I posted this somewhere else before I remembered that I am in this bowl :) so, I changed jobs 6-7 months ago and I am realizing it is not a good fit. Leadership seem to not want to hear the truth so people tell them what they want to hear and if you don’t middle management gets pissed at you. I am seriously thinking about looking somewhere else. My question is how do you answer the “why are you looking to leave” question without bad mouthing your current company?

A creative team I started working with recently has decided to ignore my every comment. They take feedback from anyone else but me, and whenever I push them to make said changes, they just pick fights and make snarky comments. Anyone have any idea why this might be?

I’ve just started to put my pronouns in my email signature and it sparked a great discussion with members of our team regarding the importance of making it a regular thing for everyone. :)

For those who have gone from one big 4 to another…was it frowned upon by your superiors/looked at as a slap in the face, even if your intentions are to leave on good terms?

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

Anyone else get frustrated when the partner brags about their billable hour amount for the month? Like congrats, you get to bill .2 for each piece of mail. You also get .2 for every letter your secretary types up as a "form letter" you never even look at. As an Associate, I don't get those easy/automatic hours.

After 12 rounds of me vs my adhd - its still a LOVE/HATE relationship. I conclude I’m in the wrong career as a result. I love being smart, excelling, having random super human skills. So a client who brought me on for a rebrand/relaunch has shifted his social media in house to his friend’s 17 year old son. Despite his age, the kid has less than no clue, the posts have typos, I presented some concepts based on certain elements being in place...he ran with them despite those elements not happening...I should sit back and laugh(ok grin). But now I’m hearing people think this is MY work typos and all. FYI I’m talking typos like “your” and “you’re”, see our latest “add”, etc

I worked as a consultant at a globally reputed firm but with a terrible, mind draining team culture — now the middle manager is bad mouthing and of course not communicating her inability to manage her own time, leading to work calls at 10 pm in night and abusive language at work.

I went to a T14 law school, got great grades and glowing recommendations, and wrote (what I thought was) a great writing sample. But I got rejected from all 70 federal clerkships I applied to. The only thing I can think of is: I took a non traditional route after law school and did a 2 year public interest fellowship in a niche field of administrative law. The rejection gave me a lot of self hatred. I still really want to clerk. Any advice? What is wrong with me? I feel like a failure.

Ive been practicing in TX for 2-3 years at a big law firm doing mostly bankruptcy work (and some trial) and looking to clerk at a bankruptcy court in SDNY/DDE/EDVA (I am well aware of how great the SDTX judges are but I am set on leaving Texas). Anyone familiar with how many apps these judges normally get or what makes candidates stand out? Are these judges generally not interested in someone who has practiced in a different market?

I’ve been at my clerkship for 5 years (4 with a different judge) and one with my current judge, and I heard horrible things about him before starting, but I assumed they were exaggerated. Turns out they’re all true, and I’ve had to start therapy to deal with him and the incredibly toxic environment. I’m trying to get out ASAP b/c he also has a history of firing clerks without cause or notice, but I think I’ll only be able to give two weeks notice if i get the job I’m interviewing for. Thoughts?

How much should I charge or accept for a law clerk position inhouse at a Biotech company? An attorney I previously supported has asked me to assist as an independent contractor. She is the only attorney at the company and has no legal staff currently.

For context: I graduated law school in May 2021 and have not passed the Bar as of yet. I have been working in IP support roles for the past six years. What would be an appropriate rate?
