After 12 rounds of me vs my adhd - its still a LOVE/HATE relationship. I conclude I’m in the wrong career as a result. I love being smart, excelling, having random super human skills. But my career/stalemate with my own mind makes me feel like I am the biggest loser fuck up ever. All the time. I 1000% understand why work isn’t working out. I empathize for all involved > they probs deserve. Thrilled to figure this out but OH F$CK this is gonna get BAD bad before it gets fixed. Commiserate?

I’ve always felt like a square peg in a round hole. I finally switch careers after 15 years and I’ve been happier, more appreciated, and seeing better raises. It’s never too late to make a change.

Square peg in a round hole is soo relatable! I’m glad you found a good fit :))

I couldn't relate to something more. I hate loving something that I got so much higher education for and am good at (at least, haven't received poor feedback yet, but it's coming, my brain just knows it!) BUT drains me daily and makes me not want to pick it back up the next day. Sigh. Hard to know when it is the culture or it is me. Or, when, even if you're good at something, you shouldn't do it, because it costs you so much.

I never used to worry too much about needing to date someone all the time, but I moved to a new city a year ago and have had such a hard time making close friends that I feel like dating is my only source of interaction and I end up really upset when things don’t work out even if they weren’t that great, because I feel like I lost the hope of having a life. I feel pathetic and don’t want to latch on to assholes just to not feel alone, but I don’t know how to be okay with no friends or bf.

Did you ever disagree with your annual review submitted by your manager and is it a good idea to state that in the review before you sign. A paralegal doesn’t like being given instructions on projects and despite my attempt to be kind she still calls my manager to complain. He ended up setting up a call where both the paralegal and I had to give examples of what we did not like in the other. Months later we are working ok and I haven’t been told by my manager that she has called to complain.Exce

My husband and I are going through our 2nd cycle. He initially asked me to allow his sister to administer my injections because she’s a nurse and I refused. I will say this I love working with the students . I love getting to know them . I smile to myself when I go to work . I still feel this way after last week being asked my three different people about doing something where I told them that I was not going to do. following day I was then ambushed by admin (where I have never felt more like nothing. Following this encounter with people in charge I had an anxiety attack. This was terrible and I have no trust . TAs are mistreated. Similar story?

Was having a conversation with a fellow female friend which intrigued me. She is in her early 30’s, has been in relationships before but she decided that she wanted to be a virgin until she felt right (impacted by culture/upbringing). She says she feels very embarrassed about it lately while dating. I comforted her saying her sexuality is her choice and the right person with respect it. But it got me thinking, what is the truth and how can I help her better? Men please share your thoughts...?

Hi all,

My boss makes jokes about me being from a different country whenever there is a work meeting or a gathering with coworkers, even though he knows where I am from. This usually occurs when I meet new work-related people or for example if I am in a situation that involves ethnic related subjects.

What is this? This is normal?

Stereotyping?
Racism?

The first time I ignored that, but now it has become a pattern and is bothering me now. I am south-American working in the UK.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12. My family did not opt to put me on medication. I illegally discovered Adderall in college. Worked incredible. Got diagnosed after college & after having been fired from my first job. Passed the CPA exams on Adderall. Went off of it again. I do everything well at my job except for attention to detail within my excel files & emails. Will taking ADHD medication really fix this? Does anyone else have this issue and was it resolved by taking medication?
