How would you recommend tackling a middle manager bad mouthing to team members and seniors despite having left the job? I worked as a consultant at a globally reputed firm but with a terrible, mind draining team culture — now the middle manager is bad mouthing and of course not communicating her inability to manage her own time, leading to work calls at 10 pm in night and abusive language at work.

The MM left the job and continues to call her coworkers; is she insinuating that she was pushed out? You/employees can block her number, you can have your attorney send a cease-and-desist letter, or you can advise those the MM is calling to not answer the calls.

People in corporate - why do so many of you(NOT ALL) disregard the talent or accomplishments of female colleagues? Almost every day I hear comments being passed towards myself or other female colleagues like 'Arey ladki hai. Ghanta kaam karti hogi...' , 'Arey ladki hai, kisi ladke se karwa liya hoga kaam'. Why? Why is it difficult for so many of you to think of women to be on par with men?
Worst part is- sometimes we hear these comments being passed by one woman to another 🤦🏻‍♀️

Feeling really stuck in my job… part of it is a toxic work culture that’s dragging me down but in the end I don’t think it’s what I want to do (associate buyer in the retail world).

Outside of work, I coach and am a director for youth and high school sports. It doesn’t make enough to cover expenses full time but it’s my true passion.

Anyone have advice or careers where they feel work life balance/flexible work schedule works with coaching?

I am new to consulting. The work/project is fine, but I feel pretty out of place socially. I have trouble keeping up with conversation, I am slow to even understand what is going on around me and I feel I can’t “banter” - a lot of my inputs to conversations are “that’s great!” or “wow!” and share a bit of my perspective. But it feels like it brings the pace of the conversation down. Are there any “reps” I can do to get better at this style of conversation?

Looking to make a move to either NY, DC or Bay Area.

Currently a manager in accounting/finance at a fintech company. Wanted some insights on the following:
- Opportunities there
- salary and other compensations
- culture/environment
- cost of living in the area (housing, transportation and day to day)
- easy to live in the outskirts and commute to the city?
- how is the support provided by companies to potential parents

Is the comp enough after expenses for a family?

Left Deloitte for greener pastures about 3 years ago. When I joined another company after my departure, the partner from the project which fed into my decision me to leave D was stalking my LinkedIn profile. Now that I’m at McK he is still stalking my LinkedIn profile. Again, this person’s behavior played a significant role in my decision to depart D. Should I reach out to him in a friendly way to probe/see what he wants? is his behavior strange? He didn’t seem to care about me when I was @ D.

Hi everyone, wanted to come back and talk about the work environment at the Washington Redskins/Football Club -- the Washington Post story was pretty jaw dropping. One troubling angle was the use of NDAs to stifle victims. NDAs have for too long enabled bad behavior to continue, and it's time companies pledged to stop using NDAs in settlements with victims -- the coverup is worse than the bad acts. I think Warren torpedoed Bloomberg's campaign due to his use of NDAs. Thoughts?
