I’ve done both and always regret testing before I go in for the beta. a compromise I’ve done is buy the pregnancy test, so the beta, and then test with the pregnancy test at home so I know before the call.
I tested and wished I hadn’t. It was negative for me and I had to go into my beta knowing the result. There were a couple of women in there talking about their success (they were there for monitoring). I couldn’t stop crying in the waiting room and while getting blood drawn. This was my third and final transfer after three rounds of IVF, so emotions were heightened for that reason also.
Ugh that’s so hard. Mine asked before if I had tested at home and adjusted her demeanor accordingly, which was really helpful.
I didn’t test, I didn’t have the heart to see another negative test. Blood test was positive!
I test (at least 8dpt) just because I’d rather know my faith ahead of time versus have someone break the news to me. Allows me to grieve on my own terms before the blood test. Have had 1 fail, 1 chemical and
*trigger warning* now 21 weeks.
Everyone’s answer is going to vary on this but I hope the best for you and wishing you a positive! ❤️❤️
My husband had what I thought was actually sound advice when I was doing the same back-and-forth, which was “you already know what you want to do” (regarding wether to test or not) and for me that was true. I wanted to know before going in for my blood draw for a variety of reasons.
I tested everrrrry day 2 days after my 5 day embryo transfer lol. I got a positive on day 7-8 and watched the tests get darker.
I plan to test the same amount it just makes me feel like I have some kind of hold on this crazy journey and it gives me something to do everyday. Could be bad, idk
I tested both times. My first FET was successful, so that was great to find out early. My second FET was unsuccessful and it was awful knowing early. You don’t want to believe it so I found myself buying like 40 pregnancy tests and testing manically hoping I’d get a different result. By the morning of the beta, it was clear it had failed and it was so hard being at the doctors office, I was holding back tears. Such a low experience. I’m about to do a 3rd FET and plan to not test early but will do an at home PGT right after the beta so I can find out on my own before they call me with the results. I think that’s a really good idea.
I didn’t test the 3rd time transfer which was FET. It was such a joyous phone call from clinic when we finally heard it was positive.
I think that’s really personal. I tested both times before my transfers and was glad I did. When it was negative I had a chance to grieve privately and preferred that to finding out cold in the doctor’s office - was still a rough appointment bc I thought there was still a minimal chance of my at home testing being wrong (it wasn’t). When it was positive, I still didn’t fully count it as a positive in my head until we made it through the first couple blood tests (they test every week or so ar first).
Just what I thought. No good answer 🙃 trying to hang in there because my beta is Monday. I tested like crazy first 2 times and 1 was negative and the other was positive but it ended up being low and lost him. Realllly hoping 3rd time is the charm; I’m almost scared to test now instead of testing early, but at the same time, Monday during the work day isn’t ideal.
Did you transfer pgt-a normal embryo?
Amazing! 🤩 so excited for you
