I know many who made this move but i don’t think all of them would say it was worth it. The work is different - you’ll learn how to critically analyze business and see so many additional parts of the m&a process that you don’t see in consulting.
No one will be able to answer this question for you though. All the responses are going to vary based on personal experiences unfortunately.
My advice - if you want to be in a high impact investing role where your decisions truly impact the greater organization then i’d say to give it a try. A lot of people don’t even get the chance to break in to PE, so you are one of the lucky ones! Good luck
