Leading a training is good for the resume. Doesn't have to be for your boss's benefit, it can be for your own.
Alt W N is my favorite shortcut I've picked up this year, opens another window for the same workbook
Agreed, don’t listen to that thought it’s not real. Show what you’ve learned and own it. Least you get from it would be a resume item, most could be inspiring others to get started using and evolving them. Coming to you as they do and you’ve made a great change to improve the team and a business process.
No need for insults . And yes resumes CVs are important because how else will you fill out a job application unless you have wealthy connections that most people don't have.
HAHAH this made me laugh because I have totally been this person. I get so excited to show everyone some new tip or trick and everyone just wants to continue to do things they way they have always done them, even if the way I am showing is way faster or more efficient.
You get me. That's what I am afraid of. But seriously, one mate on my team said it takes her 20 minutes to paste onto her ~930,000 rows in Excel because she drags it with the mouse 😬 she's never heard of *shift-control-down* 😳 I felt it's only right to offer some relief to that.
I ran into this as well. If the company doesn't incentivize increasing productivity and delivering value to the bottom line quicker, then people will naturally not see much reason for them to be more productive for the company. It's unfortunate, but most companies don't reward productivity and delivering quickly as much as they reward favoritism and being networked in the company. It's an odd thing for profit driven machines to reward what doesn't drive profit. That's the human element at play.
One of my favorite sayings is you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink. I do believe that it shows great initiative wanting to do some training and helpful items. To be fair, when I am older I may very well be one of those people just counting down the years too 😂
You can tell about the AI to the horse
Can you teach me some functions?
I farm it out .. enterprise is $$
You wanna learn.. I'll teach
I gave up learning new functions, I am spending more time and having great fun watching ChatGPT write formulas for me and analyzing spreadsheets while commanding it in simple English. It’s fascinating.
I wanted to learn more about excel
This is sad, but true.
Agree with most posters- Best way to increase expert capability is to teach others
