#2 makes more sense. Go back to #2 and try to negotiate; basically tell them you got another offer at Director role and see if they are willing to increase your base / bonus or give you a higher signing bonus
this!
Seems like you are very focused on pay.
Where would you rather work?
What job would bring you more professional fulfillment?
What job has a better career trajectory?
With what team did you feel the best connection?
This.
and add what skills amd growth will you get out of each next 1-3 years and what does that do for your brand in marketplace. what will you do on daily level and does it fit you. what values do you have vs company, which are better fit?
Sometimes a step back is a step forward. I could not find the discussion/article to post but it was on the non linear progression of people who wound up in c-suite positions
Most took a step back in their career to realign to something they were more passionate about or proved to be a good opportunity
What does progression look like at each company?
What does each role offer? sometimes smaller company is the opportunity to wear multiple hats
These are questions you should ask. 10k is nothing after taxes and a bonuses are taken at outrageous percents and never guaranteed so I never factor them into a decision on my career
Agreed with all these points! Only thing to clarify is that bonuses are taxes at the same rate as regular income - the amount withheld is higher, but it's all taxed the same when you file :)
Take 2 even if they don’t come up... think big picture

I’d go with option 2. Although you may have a chance to make a bigger impact at the first option with it being a smaller company

Title can be inflated, comp and real responsibilities can’t ... Easy choice here 😉

#2 is your answer
If you can, I’d wait on better offers. As M1 I’m making 170k plus bonus, I don’t have an MBA. I don’t care about the titles, you worked hard for that MBA and the base alone without any stocks or real bonus potential, would be a no for me (unless these roles give you massive career growth potential!). Either way, best of luck!
Sheesh good for you!! I’m an M2 with non target MBA at 160k. In S&A...time to test the market.

2 - short term sacrifice for longer term benefit 10k is no more than 6-7k post taxes
