Trying to find another life insurance job that has a base salary plus commission is so difficult and frustrating. I love doing what I do but being 1099 is beyond stressful and having to hope for people to pay their premiums and wait to get paid is exhausting and frustrating.

I'm going through the same. But I do mostly have experience in commission jobs. With going through the learning curve in building your own agency, i advise a side job to fund your career for the long haul.

Good luck. I'm salary and bonus now, but most of the positions available out there are strictly 1099 right now. Makes it hard to make a jump.

I’m a career P/c broker /risk manager looking to supplement my income by selling life insurance. Is it realistic to approach this endeavor on a part time basis?

Most companies want you to pay for leads for selling life insurance. Maybe try and get commission job with Aflac selling their health insurance product which doesn’t charge paying for leads. They give free access to Life and health course to get the required health license

I found a company that has a base salary plus commission and offers a pension. The base salary is earned with activity. What state are you in?

I recently gave my small firm notice that I am leaving and moving to another state. I mentioned that I am considering starting my own practice in the new area, and the managing partner suggested that I transition to an “of counsel” position at a 1099 hourly rate (remote) while I got started. I thought the rate was a bit low, but I’m not sure what to compare it to. Anybody have any experience with these arrangements? Any advice on how to structure? Or if it’s worth it? Any input is appreciated.

Hello everyone ,
I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge. What are some good companies I maybe should apply for after getting my license?
