Visiting SFO next month. Looking for Napa Valley recommendations for wineries and tours. TIA.

I would skip a tour and find an Uber driver that will take care of you for your visit. You can negotiate with them per hour or per day. Then you can go to wineries you want to and at your pace.

Thanks for that feedback. Any wineries you recommend?

My favorites are:
- Alpha Omega
- Rutherford Hill
- Domaine Carneros

like

Local recently recommended Rutherford and Behringer

Do not rent a car! Drinking and driving is no joke in Napa. If you’re planning to taste, use Uber.

Just got back from there. Highly recommend Ghost Block - great wines and very fair prices.

For tours, we went with Platypus Tours and they were fantastic. Bob was our tour guide. Only problem is they dont tell you the vineyards youre attending until day of the tour. This makes things difficult because you have to make reservations at most wineries due to COVID.

Sorry for the confusion - Yes, they book the tours for you. I’m just saying it’s inconvenient if you’ve already booked a tasting at a vineyard, then find out you’re going there on your tour.

Check out the Wine Not bowl for recommendations

I never understand why people always say they’re visiting SFO. No one ever says I’m visiting LaGuardia, but I see SFO all the time.

Maybe because sfo could be short hand for San Francisco also? Half the people won't know where the heck lga or laguardia is. 😏💁🏻‍♂️

What are some easy to make, low stress holiday meals for a school holiday staff party? I was "volunteered" by our principal to set it up this year (🙄). It's off school property and there will be a bar (thank god), for context.

I have been working in SEA region last 4 years. I feel burned out. I have 10yoe, I have try to move to other country but I pretty much suck in LeetCode. I want to take some time off to unwind, finish some personal business, and really prepare for interviews. I would like to hear from you. Should I quit to my current manager(5th so far) or wait after mid year performance review, when a new boss will take over my team? I'm thinking on giving them 2 months notice period. By contract is 1.

Thanks

How much do you tip in an higher priced restaurant? Went for dinner last night for 2. The bill was $220ish and I tipped 30%. My friend said I tipped too much and that he would've only tipped 10-15% because the price was higher. Thoughts?

I am planning to move to San Jose and looking out for salary range offered to audit seniors. I am in the middle of my CPA and just need to pass one more paper. Also I have audit senior experience with EY as contractor for 5 months and 3 years of Audit Senior experience with a mid size audit firm based in houston. Since San Jose is overly priced, I would like to get an estimate that how much EY offers in that location.

My SO adds very little to our relationship. She has a dead end job. I cook. I work. I oversee finances. I plan trips. She doesn’t have a voice in the relationship. I’ve asked her to give her perspective but she always defaults to mine bc she thinks I’m smarter/worldly. She feels intimated by me and my social circle. Lately, I’ve found myself thinking for her. Anticipating her wants and needs and then adjusting my behavior to meet them. Which she appreciates but it’s frustrating 29M 27F
