We had a baby 3 weeks ago.. my husband is fully invested, and taking care of me and baby post the c-section. We both talk mostly of health, chores, and recovery etc..

He would talk at length to his sister about kid, observations, video, labor, umbilical cord, habit, philosophy and what not and I admit that I feel a bit weird (may be envious). Too much involvement.

I want to be not bothered about it; And be cool, which I usually am. What can I do?

Post partum hormone swings are so real and SO wild! 💗 Your feelings are valid. Give yourself some grace. Talk to your husband about how you are feeling. Sending lots of love your way!

like

Wait what’s the issue? What do you feel envious of? Who is too involved? Your husband or his sister?

like

Does his sister have a child? Would make sense for him to want to reach out to hear experience and advice etc.

Hmmm maybe try looking at it from his perspective? He may not have anyone else he feels comfortable sharing and processing feelings with, sister feels like a pretty neutral party. Does she have kids? Maybe he’s going to her for advice and processing cuz he trusts her?

He may not want to discuss those things with you to not burden you with them or stress you out. I think it might be hormones right now. If it bothers you, maybe initiate a conversation with those topics or tell him you’d like to talk more about other things

Totally is the hormones, hang in there! I was an emotional wreck at 2-3 weeks, it should get better soon. Try to rest!

Hi - I'm looking for a referral for a family member in the LA/Orange County. Relative is a permanent resident (has been for 10+ years) and looking to apply for citizenship. Relative had a juvenile record which was expunged ( I think it matters for citizenship). They had this record before they applied for their permanent residency. Now looking to an attorney with immigration & crim experience. Thank you!

Well TSIA already up 100%. I’ll pass on this one

Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

Did you do the NIPT? I just had my first prenatal appt and they scheduled me for the NIPT at 10 weeks. I’m a little nervous and anxious. Did anyone get it and got a false positive? Do you not recommend it? I wish I could ask family but we’re not telling anyone until the 12 weeks mark.

First trimester insomnia?
I’m only about 5 weeks, but my sleep schedule has gone off the rail the last three nights. I’m sleepy/drowsy, settled in bed around the same time every night, and yet I cannot fall or stay asleep. I have a white noise machine, comfy bed, cool room.. etc. When I do fall asleep, it’s earlier in the morning and I sleep until 1/1:30pm. This was fine the first few nights since it was the weekend, but it can’t keep up. Anyone else experience this and have any recommendations?

Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?
