We recently updated our menus with clear instructions: the All Day Menu is used during lunch across all areas and for dinner in the bar and terrace, while the Elevated Dinner Menu (which includes the Reduced All Day Menu) is for the restaurant only. We’ve followed this, but are now told to accommodate guest requests for any menu in any area. What do you think about this?

It sounds like you just need to use one menu. I'm assuming the kitchen can accommodate anything from any menu, or the powers that be wouldn't have offered the new guidance. So it seems odd to have different menus if they don't really mean anything.

A good way to lack consistency and create a confusing situation. That being said, I assume there were a lot of customers asking, so easier to just accommodate than explain the changes, maybe.

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. Check the overtime laws for your state!!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.
