Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

L1 is your best bet unless you hold one of the 4-5 passports that get special access to the labor market.
Much easier to transfer offices at the same company, than trying to switch geography and company (and industry)
Not sure if this is what you're asking, but during the worst of COVID, I hired someone from the UK to US for a regular tech company, and the physical on-boarding was extremely annoying though ultimately successful. The process to get a work visa when you're not physically in the US is exasperating in the best of cases, and now isn't that. If you're thinking FAANG (or whatever), then at least you'd be able to work from the UK while the immigration lawyers figure this out (I would assume), but I imagine it would still be somewhat frustrating.

Sponsorship and work visa can be a real hurdle. Doing at least a year in a UK office and then transferring under an L1 helps a lot.
Visa is your biggest challenge. Search for H1-B and L1 visas to understand better your chances
