McKinsey & Company Any advice to help prepare for data science analyst role at top consulting firms (McKinsey & Company EY Boston Consulting Group etc)? Any materials, open source platform recommended to take on freelance data science project? When should I start actively looking and applying? I am a new grad who is working in tech as a marketing analyst I’m looking to pivot to marketing& sales data science consulting next year. How much does a support advisor make at shopify?
I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.
Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.
JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?

Same. 130% because I took a new role.
125% but it’s because I took a new job. Heard raises at my old company were between 2-5% this year. Glad I left!
59% at same company because I moved onto a new role from Analyst to Engineer.
156% increase from career change.
At my company they give a ~5% inflation raise yearly.
I always wonder if the people saying 100+ raise actually mean that they’re more than doubling their pay, or if they mean they’re now making 120% or 150% what they were making.
About 90% - two promotions this year
Where are you? Did you promote to an account exec or from an account exec. 2x year is pretty awesome!
0% and I'm still down 10% from a cutback due to the pandemic. Currently looking since that salary is not competitive even if it was full with an annual raise.
I stayed at my current firm. Got a a 15% raise in base pay and 15% raise in variable pay + RSUs (not public yet). Happy here but will leave next FY once all my options have vested.
I got a competing offer and got a 25% increase
3% at current company.
125% at new company.
3% at current company
Took new role for a 35% increase
How are those of you with 135% increases calculating your raises? Are you saying you increased your salaries by more than double?
Raise your hand if you haven’t gotten a raise! 🙋♀️ 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
And it’s not that I don’t derive one, it’s a companywide.
Ugh I now realize I had terrible typos. Sorry all.
I got about a 10.5% raise (includes market adjustment + merit raise).
Can I ask what percent was market vs merit?
I received the standard 3.5% plus extra RSUs.
3% at Indeed in tech.
Yikes that seems low but I have nothing to compare it to and zero knowledge of tech increases. I guess compared to consulting it seems low. What was bonus like? Considering indeed as my next move so curious.
7.5% but really has to fight for it this year
Our raises are typically 3% but were raised to 3.5% because of inflation
None and no bonus from 2021. Leaving this startup. CEO bragging about how we raised prices. Yet not increasing salaries a dime.
Sadly raised prices doesn’t always mean additional compensation. In my experience, raised prices is justified by costs, market etc. Employer positions it as a bump in your commission. But depending on the market / company not always the case.
-10%, because the company wasn’t profitable.
Just finished a project I’ve wanted to work on, and now I’m open for other opportunities.
