What are exit opps from a hedge fund if you don't plan to stay in investing? If your plan is to go to industry anyway, is there any value in spending time covering that industry for 2 years at a HF?

I’ve been doing ID for about 2 years now. Mostly slip and fall and WC work. Long-term, I want to move out of ID. I’m currently interviewing at a firm that does ID, but mostly does insurance coverage opinions. They also do some more complex ID, such as L&E.

With the ultimate goal of moving completely out of ID, would this be seen as a step up? I appreciate any and all feedback. TIA

So here is my dilemma:
