Totally agree. Basics like a laptop or “fast paced environment” are table stakes, not benefits. Real benefits are flexibility, growth, fair pay, and a team that respects your time.

Yes! I call these “baseline expectations masquerading as perks.” Company laptop? That's table stakes. Same with “access to Slack” or “free water.” Candidates are looking for real differentiators — think: generous PTO, full remote flexibility, or actual wellness stipends. It’s always better to list fewer real benefits than pad it with fluff.
